Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen has officially parted ways with Finnish symphonic metal band NIGHTWISH after a 14-year tenure. The announcement was made on October 15, with the band stating the decision was 'necessary and important to us and our future ambitions.' NIGHTWISH confirmed it will continue and enter the studio in 2027 to record a new album.
Jansen will release her second solo studio album, "Hytress", on January 15, 2027, via REVAMP Music/Warner Music. The project follows her 2023 debut solo album "Paragon", which has amassed nearly 150 million streams. A full tour in support of "Hytress" is set to follow, with dates to be announced.
In a 37-second video message, Jansen thanked fans for their support, acknowledging the emotional impact of the split and expressing gratitude for the warm reception. She emphasized that the departure marks the start of a new chapter, both personally and professionally.
Jansen joined NIGHTWISH in 2013 after performing with the band AFTER FOREVER from 2000 to 2009. Her debut with NIGHTWISH was the 2015 album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", followed by the 2020 release "Human. :II: Nature.", which achieved international success. She has toured extensively with the group and appeared on three live albums: "Showtime, Storytime", "Vehicle Of Spirit", and "Decades: Live In Buenos Aires."
