San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal pioneers FORBIDDEN will release their new self-titled album on October 23 via BLKIIBLK, the heavy metal imprint of Frontiers Label Group. The album, a follow-up to 2010's "Omega Wave", was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with engineer and co-producer Zack Ohren.

The band's reconstituted lineup, featuring guitarist Craig Locicero, bassist Matt Camacho, vocalist Norman Skinner, and drummer Chris Kontos, has crafted a full-length album spanning over an hour, blending thrash intensity with progressive sonic ambitions. The record includes tracks such as "Single Point Failure" and the nine-minute closer "Flower Of Life", which showcase a new sense of scope and purpose for the band.

FORBIDDEN will launch a headlining tour in support of the album, beginning October 23 in Las Vegas, Nevada and concluding on November 22 in Los Angeles, California. The tour will feature HEATHEN and VOID as supporting acts. The band also announced a lineup change in July 2024, replacing guitarist Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain with Jeremy Von Epp.

The group previously reunited in 2008, released "Omega Wave" in 2010, and went on hiatus in 2012. Their first new song in 15 years, "Divided By Zero", was released in 2025. The band's legacy includes landmark albums such as "Forbidden Evil" (1988) and "Twisted Into Form" (1990), and extensive touring with acts including EXODUS, DEATH ANGEL, and TESTAMENT.
