In a new interview with the Creativity Talkin podcast, FOREIGNER's longtime bassist Jeff Pilson spoke about the band's recent singer change from Kelly Hansen to Luis Maldonado.

Maldonado joined FOREIGNER as a guitarist and backing vocalist in 2021, but took over lead vocals last year.

Pilson called Hansen "amazing," saying he was vital in bringing FOREIGNER back into the public sphere.

However, Hansen originally announced he would no longer be the lead singer for FOREIGNER last May after joining FOREIGNER in early 2019.

The band has been touring extensively since then and recently embarked on a massive tour with LYNYRD SKYNYRD this summer as part of the "Double Trouble Double Vision Tour." The tour kicks off on July 23 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre and will run through August 29 in Rogers, Arkansas at the Walmart AMP.

FOREIGNER's lineup currently features Luis Maldonado on lead vocals and guitar, Michael Bluestein on keyboards, Jeff Pilson on bass, Bruce Watson on lead guitar, and Chris Frazier on drums.

Pilson praised FOREIGNER's current relationship with founding guitarist Mick Jones and original singer Lou Gramm, who have been making guest appearances with the band throughout 2025.

He also commended FOREIGNER's continued chart success and massive airplay, stating that they've booked shows through the end of this year.

FOREIGNER is known for some of rock and roll's most enduring anthems, including "Juke Box Hero," "Cold As Ice," and "I Want To Know What Love Is." The band has been active since 1976 and has a worldwide No.
