Stockholm's Forever Feared has unleashed their third studio output, a blackened thrash metal onslaught that draws inspiration from Kreator and Slayer.

The album is marked by melodic black metal riffing reminiscent of Dissection on opener "The Darkened Sphere", as well as nods to Children Of Bodom in the melodic leads of songs like "A Soul To Cope".

Bass-driven title track guitars give way to verse-level melodic action, with vocals that fit squarely within the style's parameters.

"Eyes Of Wrath" returns to straightforward blazer territory, while "Triumph Through Pain" builds a galloping rhythm before launching into Exmortus-inspired melodic death/thrash verses.

An orchestral piece serves as the backdrop for instrumental "Stain Of The Roses", with slower dual leads breaking up the album's more aggressive moments.

The song would have benefitted from adhering to its initial arrangement, whereas "I Know, The Fire Burns Inside" starts strong with clean guitars and a solo section that showcases sweep picking mastery.

Fans of Void, Evil Invaders, and Vulture will find much to appreciate in Forever Feared's third studio output.
