GODSMACK has recruited former DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Mangini to sit behind the kit for the remainder of the band's "The Rise Of Rock" tour.
This comes after the abrupt departure of Wade Murff from his drumming gig with the band.,Mangini made his live debut with GODSMACK on June 12 at the Morton Amphitheater in Riverside, Missouri.
He was joined on stage by the rest of the band's current lineup, consisting of guitarist/vocalist Sully Erna, bassist Robbie Merrill, and guitarist Sam Koltun.,Shortly after the Riverside concert, Mangini commented on his new gig in an Instagram post: "Taking this all in today with show 1 done.
And just like that, I finally get to play these dream venues in the USA with my Boston brothers in GODSMACK." Murff joined GODSMACK this past spring and played more than a dozen shows with the group between May 8 at the Welcome To Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida and May 30 in Houston, Texas.,GODSMACK's current tour schedule features several dates across North America, including the June 30 concert at Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lake View in Syracuse, New York.
