Ex-I PREVAIL vocalist Brian Burkheiser has announced that he will release a new original song, "Phases", along with the track's accompanying music video next week under his solo banner, SCATTERBRAIN.
The news comes after Burkheiser released a statement via social media earlier today thanking Fearless and Concord Records for their professionalism and respect throughout his time with the label.
Burkheiser took to social media in December 2025 to share a cover of Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" under the SCATTERBRAIN banner.
At the time, Burkheiser stated that he was grateful to have found a way to release some new music despite an unresolved dispute with his former band.
The singer had previously claimed that an unresolved dispute with I PREVAIL had prevented him from releasing his own original music.
However, it appears that Burkheiser has now officially parted ways with the label and is ready to move forward with his solo career.
Burkheiser handled clean vocals for I PREVAIL since the band's formation in 2013 but stepped away from touring activities due to a battle with Eagle's syndrome.
The singer's departure from the band was announced in May 2025, with I PREVAIL going on to release its fourth studio album "Violent Nature" via Fearless Records.
Burkheiser has now stated that he is grateful to be a free and independent artist, able to release his own music under the SCATTERBRAIN banner.
He wishes to thank his fans for their unwavering support throughout this challenging period.\
