Jason Newsted, the former bassist of metal legends METALLICA, recently participated in a unique live music enrichment session at the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter, Florida.
According to the sanctuary, Newsted's performance aimed to stimulate curiosity, reduce stress, and encourage natural behaviors in the animals.
The sanctuary reported that every animal responded differently to the sounds and rhythms during the session.
The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is South Florida's largest wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education center.
It admits over 5,000 injured, sick, or orphaned animals annually and provides lifesaving medical care to release them back into their habitats.
Newsted has since moved on from METALLICA and currently fronts his own band, JASON NEWSTED & THE CHOPHOUSE BAND.
The group will embark on its first-ever North American headlining tour this summer, featuring eight headlining dates in cities including Northampton, Albany, Alexandria, Grand Rapids, Knoxville, and more.
The tour kicks off July 1 at Northampton's Iron Horse Music Hall and visits major markets across the South, Midwest, and East Coast before concluding with a two-night stand at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on July 24-25.
Since their formation in 1992, JASON NEWSTED & THE CHOPHOUSE BAND has supported various charitable causes through benefit shows and charity gigs.
