Frank Bello left the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise early to attend the 2026 Grammy Awards, where he is nominated for Best Rock Performance alongside Yungblud for their live cover of Changes. The performance was recorded last July at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK.

Yungblud’s rendition serves as a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and features an all-star lineup: Bello on bass, Nuno Bettencourt on guitar, II on drums, and Adam Wakeman on keys.

The appearance marks Bello’s first show with Anthrax in nearly 18 months, following his return on October 12, 2024 at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA. He was previously scheduled to perform with the band at Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY on September 27, but the set was canceled due to severe weather.

Bello last played with Anthrax in May 2023 at Milwaukee Metal Fest and sat out the band’s April–May 2024 South American tour for personal reasons. During that run, Dan Lilker filled in, marking his first appearance with the band in 40 years. Lilker is a founding member of Stormtroopers of Death alongside Charlie Benante and Scott Ian.

Outside of Anthrax, Bello performed with Norwegian black metal veterans Satyricon during their summer European festival dates.

Bello’s memoir, Fathers, Brothers, And Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, And Anthrax, was released in October 2021 via Rare Bird, with a foreword by Gene Simmons.
