In a new interview with Ultimate Guitar, guitarist Gary Holt discusses the origin of Exodus' new album title track 'Goliath', as well as his thoughts on returning singer Rob Dukes.
When asked whether Rob was the perfect fit for Exodus, Holt replied, “Absolutely.
I’m not taking anything away from the other guys, but he’s the perfect singer for where we are right now and where we were in the past.” Holt credits Dukes with centering the sound of their new album Goliath, stating, “You write the album for the people you got,” highlighting his appreciation for Rob's unique style.
The album, produced by Exodus itself, was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, Nile, Undeath), featuring seven original tracks including the standout song '2 Minutes Hate'.
Fans can pre-order Goliath via Napalm Records on various vinyl formats, ranging from 12-inch gatefold pictures to glow-in-the-dark editions.
The album's supporting live dates have been announced across Europe and North America, co-headlining with Kreator and Carcass in select locations.
Gary Holt praised Exodus' new work as a "band-centric album" showcasing the collective's unique musical voice."
