KISS singer/bassist Gene Simmons is gearing up to perform with his band, the Gene Simmons Band, at a show on June 13 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California.
In a recent interview with Desert Sun ahead of the concert, Simmons reflected on building setlists for fans who never got to see KISS live.
âYouâre kind of damned if you do and damned if you donât,â he said.
âIf you play their favorite tunes, then the ones whoâve seen you a few times say, âYeah, I heard that on the last end.
Why donât you play deeper cuts?â Then, if you play deep cuts, then the ones who are seeing you for the first time say, âHey, how come you didnât do âGod of Thunder?ââŠsomewhere in between playing your favorite tunes, letâs surprise you with some stuff youâve never heard, because KISS never played âRocket Ride.ââ The Gene Simmons Band has been featuring mostly KISS songs in their recent setlists, including deeper cuts like âStrange Waysâ and âRocket Ride.â They've also covered Van Halen's âHouse Of Painâ and Motorhead's âAce Of Spades.â The band will be headlining the Legends of Rock Expo presented by Gene Simmons himself on September 25-27 at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
Tickets are now available online.
