When Geoff Tate's celebration of Operation: Mindcrime came to Cincinnati, Ohio at the historic Taft Theater on May 15, fans were treated to a memorable performance.

Following last year's show in Columbus, Ohio, this concert was another epic rendition of the iconic album.

Opening the set was James Keegan, an acoustic singer-songwriter from Ireland who earned a standing ovation with his charming stage presence.

Next up was Tomas McCarty and OGMA, promoting their EP Enslaved, who delivered a high-energy set that paid homage to the hard rock sounds of the 1970s.

Their six-song set included covers of Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak" and Free's "All Right Now," showcasing their connection to Geoff Tate through his former band members.

Of course, the main event was Geoff Tate himself, who nailed every track with ease despite being 67 years old.

The female lead, Clodagh McCarthy, impressed once again as a key part of the show's narrative, and her confidence on stage was evident throughout.

The setlist featured selections from Operation Mindcrime: II and III, including the theatrical "Do You Still Believe" during the encore.

With continued trends in embracing classic tunes and delivering high-energy performances with his band, Geoff Tate continues to prove why he remains at the top of his game.

This concert will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the best live events of 2026.
