A group of developers from the original Guitar Hero franchise have teamed up with RedOctane Games and Gibson Guitars to create a new rhythm-action game called Stage Tour.

The game is said to blend familiar note-highway gameplay with modern twists, featuring dozens of bandmates and instruments, as well as a deep competitive spine and extensive roadmap of seasonal content and live events.

Players will be able to customize their lineup with official Gibson guitar designs, mix and match characters, and unlock legendary rewards and exclusive content.

The game is built with the community at its core and is set to be released sometime this year.

A trailer for the game features Static X's music and can be found on Stage Tour's website.

Players can sign up to receive notifications about the release date and add the game to their wishlist on Steam.

Gibson has partnered with RedOctane Games to bring this new game to life, which promises to rekindle the flame of plastic-instrument rhythm gaming.
