Ginger, the frontman of THE WILDHEARTS, has confirmed that he has already written a new album for the band, ahead of the release of the upcoming record 'Northern Spirit'.

The follow-up album, which has not yet been officially announced, includes songs such as 'Stories', 'Motherfucker In The Sky', 'Just Make It To Bedtime', 'Gorilla Zen', and the title track 'Northern Spirit'.

'Northern Spirit' is scheduled for release in October 2026 and is rooted in Ginger's personal connection to the North of England and Scotland.

The album explores themes of pride, identity, and the stories people live, with the title describing a spirit of self-acceptance and belonging rather than a geographic region.

The title track is set to be a celebratory and grand composition, featuring an 'ugly' riff and a 'joyous' chorus, marking a departure from conventional songwriting.

The album's first single is expected to be 'Motherfucker In The Sky', which examines humanity's relationship with religion.

Ginger has also revealed that THE WILDHEARTS have undergone multiple lineups and hiatuses throughout their history, with him as the only constant member.

The band reformed in 2019 after a ten-year break and released 'Satanic Rites Of The Wildhearts' in March 2025.

This latest development comes as the band prepares to promote 'Northern Spirit' and continues its trajectory of artistic evolution following a period of personal and professional challenges."
