According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glenn Danzig will direct an adaptation of his medieval horror comic Hellmask.
Writer-director James Cullen Bressack is producing the film with casting currently underway and production set to begin in August.
Danzig's publisher Verotik is behind the project, which first appeared in their 30th-anniversary issue in October 2023.
The book is set against a brutal medieval backdrop filled with dark magic, armored warriors and massive bloody battle scenes.
Hellmask follows a violent supernatural tale steeped in gothic atmosphere.
This news comes after Danzig revealed he was working on four different movie scripts back in April 2022.
He told RadioactiveMike Z host of the KCAL-FM radio program Wired In The Empire at the time: "'The Vampires' Vengeance' is the 'Death Rider' sequel," referencing his homage to Italian spaghetti westerns and classic vampire films, Death Rider In The House Of Vampires.
That film, which Danzig wrote and directed with himself acting as executive producer alongside James Cullen Bresack, follows the Death Rider who travels to the desert Vampire Sanctuary ruled by Count Holliday.
The price of admission is one untouched virgin.
The project has been compared to Tommy Wiseau's infamous drama "The Room", but Hellmask appears to be a more serious adaptation of Danzig's comic book work.
