GODFLESH has announced its penultimate studio album, 'Decay', set for release on September 25, 2026, via Relapse Records.

The album marks the band's final release following a 38-year career, concluding a legacy defined by sonic aggression and artistic evolution.

The record follows the 2023 release of 'Purge' and was conceived from the same creative sessions, with six tracks selected for the new album after the original material was deemed unsuitable for the earlier release.

All recordings were completed prior to mastermind Justin Broadrick's abdominal surgery earlier this year, though the final stages of a few songs were recorded during the recovery period.

Broadrick confirmed that the physical strain of live performances contributed to the development of the hernia, which is now considered a direct consequence of years of intense live activity.

The album was mixed post-surgery while Broadrick remained in pain, though he emphasized that the music primarily expresses mental, philosophical, and existential pain rather than physical suffering.

The band has confirmed a complete creative hiatus after this release, stating that GODFLESH is no longer physically possible for Broadrick.

The new album includes the tracks: Master And Slave, Living/Ending, Feral Colony, Fear Of Man, Fodder, and Consume Me.

This marks the end of a decade-long creative cycle that began with the 1980s debut 'Streetcleaner' and expanded through seminal releases like 'Pure', 'Hymns', 'Slavestate', and 'Messiah'.

After a nine-year hiatus, GODFLESH returned with the 'Decline & Fall' EP and subsequent records 'A World Lit Only By Fire' and 'Post Self', before pausing again following the conclusion of 'Post Self'."
