Wendy Dio confirmed on January 21, 2026, at the Metal Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in West Hollywood, CA, that Hear 'N Aid's landmark charity single “Stars” will be reissued next year.

Originally recorded across May 20 and 21, 1985, the song was a centerpiece of a famine-relief project spearheaded by Ronnie James Dio under the Hear 'N Aid banner.

Over 40 artists from across the metal spectrum gathered at A&M Records Studios in Hollywood to participate.

The single will arrive after being unavailable in digital form since its initial release on vinyl and cassette in 1986.

All proceeds of the reissue will benefit the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to research and education for early detection and treatment of prostate, colon, and stomach cancers.
