In a new interview with The Mistress Carrie Podcast, I PREVAIL vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe spoke about the band's upcoming single, "Paradise", which will be released this coming Friday, June 26.
The track is a collaboration with Los Angeles-based nu-metal/alt-rock songstress Amira Elfeky, and according to Vanlerberghe, Elfeky brings a powerful energy to the song.
"I was taken aback when I first heard her singing on it," he said, "but not because I didn't expect it.
It was better than I could imagine." The single features a mix of clean and harsh vocals, with Elfeky handling both styles seamlessly.
Vanlerberghe also discussed the band's future plans, including their focus on releasing standalone singles rather than full-length albums.
However, he hinted that there may be more to come from the band in the near future.
The interview comes as I PREVAIL continues to tour and perform shows following the departure of founding member Brian Burkheiser last year.
"Any type of breakup, it's a struggle," Vanlerberghe reflected about the split with Burkheiser.
"But we've just been focused on the music and focused on the fans and making sure that we're out and still playing these shows, playing these songs and continue to write music that people can relate to." The band has made headlines for its arena-level performances and Grammy nominations, and continues to release critically-acclaimed music.
Fans can catch I PREVAIL's latest tour dates and updates on their website and social media channels.
The single "Paradise" will be released this Friday, June 26, via the band's official social media channels.
