In a new interview with Daniel Harris, ICED EARTH's founding guitarist Jon Schaffer discussed his plans for future music.

When asked if his new music would be inspired by his relationship with Jesus Christ, Schaffer responded: 'I just started playing guitar a week ago today.

I'm just gonna let it flow very naturally.

But the story of Christ's life is heavy, dude.

There's plenty of heavy stuff to draw inspiration from.' Schaffer clarified that he doesn't need to force creativity and is waiting for inspiration to strike.

He emphasized that he won't be chasing money or fame, but will only create music that truly resonates with him.

This comes after Schaffer recently released 'Sons Of Liberty - Thought Crimes (Volumes 1 & 2)', a reimagining of his past work with new mixes and live drums.

Schaffer has stated that this project was meant to be more than just music, but a wake-up call for listeners.

In related news, Schaffer was sentenced to three years of probation and 120 hours of community service in connection with his involvement in the January 2021 riot at the U.S.

Capitol.

He later became one of about 1,500 people accused of crimes related to the riot who were pardoned by U.S.

president Donald Trump."
