During a three-hour appearance on the latest episode of the Iblis Manifestations podcast, ICED EARTH founder and guitarist Jon Schaffer discussed his involvement in the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S.

Capitol.

In October 2024, Schaffer was sentenced to three years of probation and 120 hours of community service in connection with his involvement in the riot.

Schaffer also revealed that he spent nearly two months at Indiana's Marion County Jail before he was transferred to the District Of Columbia in March 2021, when the charges were filed against him.

However, Schaffer has maintained that he is a changed man since his experiences and has credited his relationship with Jesus Christ as the reason for this transformation.

Schaffer emphasized the importance of forgiveness, particularly towards one's parents, citing an interview with American right-wing talk show host Jesse Lee Peterson as a key influence on his newfound perspective.

He also expressed concern about the lack of accountability among powerful individuals in government and wished for greater transparency and justice in the system."
