Ukrainian modern metal band Ignea has released the first single, 'Dreams Of Lands Unseen,' from their upcoming album Monumental.

The song combines driving riffs with growls and nostalgic atmospheric keyboards to evoke a distinctly 1980s vibe.

Ignea's vocalist Helle Bohdanova comments on the track: 'This song is about the blend of ambition and illusion, where space wasn’t an escape but a conquest shaped by ideology and dreams.' She also notes that the band shot the music video in black and white to reach for the vibe of old sci-fi rather than modern blockbuster spectacle.

The album Monumental explores nostalgia in all its forms through nine tracks, from grand Cold War space dreams to personal memories.

Musically, Ignea blends technical metal riffs with industrial textures and melodic passages to mirror 'nostalgic rides,' where darkness, reflection, and awe collide.

Monumental will be released on October 23 via Napalm Records in various formats including a limited edition splatter vinyl.

The album was written during the full-scale war in Ukraine and recorded mostly in icy temperatures and long power outages in Kyiv.

Helle Bohdanova shares: 'Much of this album was inspired by modernist architecture – concrete giants built to signal progress and a brighter future, now slowly decaying.' She adds: 'Back in the 17th century, nostalgia was considered a deadly disease—and in many ways, it still is.'
