In a new interview with Polyend, former SEPULTURA and current CAVALERA drummer Igor 'Iggor' Cavalera reflects on his influence in the metal world.

He acknowledges the recognition but emphasizes that there's always more to learn and explore as an artist.

Cavalera shares his perspective on how drumming has evolved for him over the years, noting its connection to rhythm, emotion, and human instinct.

Discussing his musical roots in metal and punk, he highlights how these styles have shaped his approach to music.

The drummer currently works with various projects, including CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, SOULWAX, PETBRICK, and MIXHELL.

Cavalera's history with SEPULTURA spans decades; however, he left the band in June 2006 due to 'artistic differences.' In 1996, his brother Max Cavalera exited SEPULTURA after a split with their manager Gloria.

Igor's current releases include 'Aural Manifestations' and 'Alucinações Sônicas.'
