Finland's INSOMNIUM have confirmed the release of their new album, "Netherworlds", which explores themes of loss, aging, and the transition into the afterlife. The album features guest vocals from Tomi Koivusaari and Tomi Joutsen, and includes a synth solo by Santeri Kallio. The official music video for the track "The Hour Grows Late" was directed by Jari Heino of Coldstore Productions and highlights Finnish folklore, with white ribbons symbolizing ancestral memorials between the living and the dead.

The band has announced an extensive global tour, beginning with a series of Finnish shows in November and December. The tour continues with dates in the USA and Canada in November and December 2026, supported by AMORPHIS and HINAYANA. Following a holiday break, INSOMNIUM will return with AMORPHIS for a European tour in January and February 2027, with support from UNTO OTHERS.

"Netherworlds" marks the start of a new production era for the band, with producer Miiro Varjus playing a central role in shaping the album's sonic landscape. The record was recorded at Fascination Street Studios and mixed by Jens Bogren with mastering by Tony Lindgren. The album is described as a deeply personal yet universally resonant work, blending melodic death metal with sweeping atmospheres and emotional depth.

INSOMNIUM, who emerged from Joensuu, North Karelia, have long been known for their melancholic soundscapes and introspective songwriting. This latest release continues their artistic evolution while maintaining the core identity that defines their music.
