Former Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley will be among the members of the iconic British heavy metal band who will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's Class Of 2026.
The honor recognizes Bayley's contributions to the group during his five-year tenure and two studio albums, 'The X Factor' (1995) and 'Virtual XI' (1998).
When asked about the news, Bayly expressed gratitude and humility, saying, "Well, I don't think any of us get into heavy metal and follow it as a profession to get awards, but it's nice to be recognized…" He acknowledged that for his fans, being part of such an esteemed institution is important, as they believe his contributions warrant recognition.
The induction recognizes the band's work from 1975 to present day, including their current lineup.
Notably, this marks Bayly's first official nod towards Hall Of Fame consideration since the band's eligibility began in 2004.
Other metal legends who have yet to be recognized include Motörhead and various hard rock artists.
IRON MAIDEN finished in the fourth place in the fan vote for the 2023 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction class, demonstrating their enduring popularity.
The list of eligible bands is vast, with many iconic acts awaiting recognition.
One notable example is KISS, which was eligible since 1999 and didn't receive its first nomination until 2009 before being inducted in 2014.
The Hall of Fame's Class Of 2026 will now include Iron Maiden as part of their legacy.
