Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson has spoken publicly about his thoughts on retirement, stating that he couldn't continue to perform if he didn't think he could do his best.

In a recent interview with Kerrang!, Dickinson shared his perspective on legendary drummer Nicko McBrain's decision to retire last year.

The singer understands the importance of stepping away when one can no longer give their best performance, citing instances where other singers have struggled to maintain their voices.

However, Dickinson emphasized that he couldn't go on stage if he didn't think he could do justice to his music.

"It's just a fact of life that one day it may or may not happen," he said.

Dickinson also touched on the topic of retirement in general, stating that there are many singers who have retired due to voice issues and are now considered legends.

However, when they were still active and performing well, they too were seen as legends.

Iron Maiden is gearing up for their 50th anniversary EddFest extravaganza at Knebworth Park next month, followed by a worldwide tour titled "Run For Your Lives".

Fans can find the complete tour itinerary and ticket links on Iron Maiden's official website.
