Ex-METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted recently expressed his enthusiasm for seeing his former band play at the Sphere in Las Vegas during an appearance on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk on May 12.
When asked if he had any upcoming shows at the venue, Newsted replied: 'I haven't seen anything there yet.' He went on to praise METALLICA's stage production for their last tour and noted that it would be a 'killer' show to see them perform at the Sphere with its state-of-the-art technology.
The Sphere has already hosted residencies from legendary rockers such as U2, PHISH, DEAD & COMPANY, and THE EAGLES.
Newsted left METALLICA back in 2001 but was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame along with his former bandmates in 2009.
In related news, Jason Newsted & The Chophouse Band will embark on an 18-date run this month, with eight headlining shows and supporting BLACKBERRY SMOKE for ten dates in July.
This marks Newsted's continued activity outside METALLICA and further solidifies his post-METALLICA identity as a solo artist.
