In a recent interview with Mike Zara of KCAL-FM, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE singer Jesse Leach discussed his first impression of METALLICA's iconic 1991 self-titled LP.

Leach recalled: “Yeah, man, that’s a huge record...

I think for me, I was one of those people who was, like, ‘Ah, it’s so different,’” he said about the band's experimental shift towards a heavier sound.

When asked what METALLICA song off the "Black Album" he would cover if given the chance, Leach proposed an acoustic rendition with a psychedelic twist, inspired by Blue Cheer's cover of "Summertime".

This thoughtful perspective comes from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, who've been touring extensively behind their latest album, "This Consequence", which debuted in February 2025 via Metal Blade.

The band continues to showcase their sound on stages across the country alongside supporting acts like MACHINE HEAD, IRON REAGAN and HAVOK.
