In a new interview with U.K.'s Soundsphere, acclaimed hard rock guitarist John 5 discussed how he approaches playing iconic guitar parts when working with legendary bands like Möttley Crüe.

When asked by the interviewer how he makes himself 'undeniable' to work with such esteemed artists, John 5 replied, "I think when I start working with someone, it's so important to me — I mean, now I'm being so honest, it's so important to me to make that band so happy and make their fans so happy.

He continued, "It's like you're looking at some sheet music; you're looking at Mozart, and you're, like, 'Well, I'm gonna improvise over this part.' No.

That's how those songs were written, how they were recorded, and how they should be performed." John added that he checked with the Möttley Crüe members to ensure he played their iconic guitar parts exactly as they were on record.

John 5's comments come ahead of his upcoming European tour, which will kick off in May 2026.

This marks John 5's first-ever solo tour in these territories, following a few shows with Möttley Crüe in 2016.

Since joining the band alongside guitarist Mick Mars, John has been praised for his ability to bring their iconic sound to life.

The guitarist is set to embark on a summer U.S.

tour with Möttley Crüe in support of his critically acclaimed solo album 'Ghost', released last October.

As one of the most in-demand guitar players on the planet, John 5 has worked with an impressive array of artists across genres.

In recent interviews, John 5 has highlighted the importance of respect for a band's original sound, stating that it's essential to honor their music as they wrote and recorded it.

This philosophy is reflected in his playing style, which he attributes to being mindful of every note played in each iconic song.
