Former CRO-MAGS frontman John Joseph has criticized Harley Flanagan for re-recording the band's debut album, 'The Age Of Quarrel', which is featured in the documentary 'Harley Flanagan: Wired For Chaos'.
The new version of the album is expected later this year to coincide with its 40th anniversary.
During a recent interview on The T&F Podcast, Joseph stated that none of the original band members involved in the recording are part of the re-recording and questioned why Flanagan chose to do so.
He also discussed his dissatisfaction with Flanagan's handling of past CRO-MAGS releases and voiced his disinterest in being involved in a potential reunion.
According to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Joseph expressed that he believes the original recording of 'The Age Of Quarrel' is a classic and suggested that Flanagan should focus on writing new music instead of re-recording old material.
He also mentioned that he will not be involved in any re-release of the re-recorded album.
When asked about the possibility of a CRO-MAGS reunion, Joseph stated that none of the original members want to be involved and expressed his frustration over Flanagan's decision to exclude them from the documentary.
He added that there will be no reunion shows or records in the future.
The article also mentions a previous lawsuit filed by Flanagan against John Joseph and drummer Mackie Jayson regarding ownership of the CRO-MAGS name, as well as a settlement reached in October 2022 that prohibits Joseph from using the CRO-MAGS mark or any derivative thereof for his projects."
