In a recent interview with Bolling!, Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain weighed in on the NFL's decision to recruit Puerto Rican superstar rapper and singer Bad Bunny for this year's Super Bowl halftime show.

According to Cain, the move was strictly about expanding their brand to appeal to Latin American viewers.

'I think it was kind of — they're looking to expand their audience to Latin America,' Cain said.

He also noted that he didn't watch the performance but heard it was the worst Super Bowl in a long time.

Cain's comments come after Bad Bunny made history as the first halftime show performer to sing primarily in Spanish at the most-watched sporting event in the United States.

The NFL has been criticized for its decision, with some conservatives calling Bad Bunny a 'foreigner' despite his Puerto Rican roots.

However, Kid Rock, who headlined Turning Point USA's rival 'All-American Halftime Show', gave his review of Bad Bunny's performance during an appearance on Fox News' 'The Ingrahm Angle'.

While he didn't understand the show, Rock expressed sympathy for Bad Bunny's situation.

Cain is a devout born-again Christian who has explored faith-based music in his solo work.

He and Journey are currently touring extensively, with their 60-city 'Final Frontier Tour 2026' kicking off on February 28 in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
