KAMELOT has confirmed the release of its upcoming studio album, 'Dark Asylum', set for August 28 via Napalm Records. The album expands the RavenHill narrative through fifteen interconnected compositions that blend orchestral passages, heavy guitar-driven arrangements, atmospheric textures, and character-based storytelling. Longtime producer Sascha Paeth returns to oversee the project, with Jacob Hansen handling mixing and mastering. Two singles, 'Ashen World' and 'Godlike Alchemy', have been made available prior to the album's release. Model Ignacia Fernández, crowned Miss World Chile 2025, makes a guest appearance on 'Ashen World' and 'Sanctuary'.

The album marks a continuation of KAMELOT's evolution since Tommy Karevik joined in 2011 following Roy Khan's exit. Karevik has appeared on the band's last five studio albums, including 'Silverthorn' (2012), 'Haven' (2015), 'The Shadow Theory' (2018), 'The Awakening' (2023), and the upcoming 'Dark Asylum'. Karevik has emphasized honoring the legacy of the original lineup while bringing his own vocal and creative identity to the band.

Khan, who left KAMELOT in 2011 after a recovery period, has since reformed his pre-KAMELOT band CONCEPTION and released 'My Dark Symphony' (2018) and 'State Of Deception' (2020). In a 2018 interview, Khan praised Karevik, calling the newer material 'classical KAMELOT' and noting Tommy's strong vocal abilities. The band has maintained a positive fan reception since Karevik's arrival, with no reported backlash to his inclusion.

The new album follows a creative trajectory that deepens the band's narrative scope, with Karevik stating that 'The Awakening' marked a shift in artistic direction and that 'Dark Asylum' will explore even more personal and expansive themes.
