Black metal project Këkht Aräkh have announced a new full-length album, Morning Star, set for release on March 27 via Sacred Bones Records.
Described as the project’s most refined and honest expression to date, Morning Star was recorded between Berlin and Stockholm, blending aggressive black metal with immersive, atmospheric soundscapes. Much of the album’s lo-fi warmth comes from a tape Portastudio, giving the material a raw, intimate edge.
The announcement arrives alongside a new track, “Three Winters Away,” complete with an accompanying music video. Written in 2024, the song features drums by Jonathan of Spiraling Void.
According to mastermind Dmitry, the lyrics reflect on the passage of time and the changes that have occurred since Pale Swordsman was released in 2021.
“The meaning stays very much open,” Dmitry explains. “It doesn’t reveal whether those changes were for better or for worse… leaving space for listeners to interpret the story in their own way.”
Originally formed in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, Këkht Aräkh have carved out a singular lane within black metal since 2014. Morning Star pushes that vision further with a rawer, more exposed sound and includes a guest appearance from Bladee on the track “Eternal Martyr.”
