Kerry King has officially announced his new solo project, featuring Mark Osegueda of DEATH ANGEL as the lead vocalist. The band, which includes guitarist Phil Demmel of MACHINE HEAD and VIO-LENCE, drummer Paul Bostaph of SLAYER, and bassist Kyle Sanders of HELLYEAH, was formed after a lengthy process of collaboration and demonstration. Osegueda, who has known King for years, described the process as one of intense effort and mutual respect, stating that King’s vision was clear and that he personally secured the position through a direct outreach during the pandemic.

The debut album, titled "From Hell I Rise," was released in May 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music. All tracks were written by King, who has been a prominent figure in the metal scene since the 1980s. The recording sessions took place at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles in 2023, produced by Josh Wilbur, a veteran who has worked with KORN, LAMB OF GOD, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, and BAD RELIGION.

King confirmed that Philip Anselmo of PANTERA was considered as a potential vocalist but ultimately declined, citing that Mark Osegueda was the ideal fit for the project's sonic direction. King emphasized that the new band represents a departure from DEATH ANGEL, with Osegueda showcasing his versatility in performance.

The band’s first live performance occurred in May 2024 at Reggies in Chicago. Following this, the group expanded to perform at major U.S. festivals, including Welcome To Rockville in Florida and Sonic Temple in Ohio, marking a significant shift from intimate shows to large-scale touring events.
