SLAYER guitarist Kerry King and his solo band headlined the Miller Lite Oasis stage at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday night (July 4) as replacement for MEGADETH, which dropped out of Summerfest in April citing an "unforeseen scheduling conflict".
The setlist included songs from King's debut album 'From Hell I Rise', including 'Where I Reign', 'Toxic', and 'Repentless'.
Fan-filmed video of the show can be seen below.
King was scheduled to enter the studio in April 2026 to begin recording the follow-up album to his solo debut, but it seems that will now happen before then.
A new tour in support of the upcoming effort is set to launch in early 2027.
In an interview with Reigning TV last year, King discussed his plans for his second solo album, stating that he has enough material ready to go, and plans to record with his current band before New Year's.
Joining King in his new band are vocalist Mark Osegueda (DEATH ANGEL), guitarist Phil Demmel (MACHINE HEAD, VIO-LENCE), bassist Kyle Sanders (HELLYEAH) and drummer Paul Bostaph (SLAYER).
King's setlist for the show was a mix of old and new material, including 'Two Fists', 'Idle Hands', and covers like Black Sabbath's 'Wicked World'.
The show marked King's first live performance in nine months, after which he will likely dive back into recording mode for his second solo album.
A new tour is set to launch next year in support of the upcoming effort.
