The band has taken “Unwritten,” the 2004 multiplatinum pop hit by the English singer-songwriter, and molded it into a stadium-shaking anthem for a new generation.
Keeping the emotion and empowering messaging of the original song intact, they’ve turned it into a moshpit calling banger.
When discussing covering the song, vocalist Jonathan Norris reveals that he remembers first hearing “Unwritten” at age 11, when it “got stuck in his head.” He explains, “That song got stuck in my head and never left.
It’s an anthem for embracing life and yourself, so the message fits perfectly with what we do.
Throw a big wall of rhythm guitars on that chorus and there you have it.” When Kingdom Collapse cries out, “Reaching for something in the distance, so close you can almost taste it, release your inhibitions, feel the rain on your skin, no one else can feel it for you, only you can let it in,” you feel every single word.
The band’s latest single has become the third Kingdom Collapse song to be released from their upcoming album Survivor.
Their debut album will be released on October 30 via Mascot Records.

The band originated from the childhood friendship between vocalist Jonathan Norris and bassist Aaron Smith, who grew up together discovering music around the same time.
After Jonathan lost his father at age eight, he immediately retreated into music as a coping mechanism for the trauma.
This was the turning point where both boys recognized the power of music and their potential together.
