METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett participated in an intimate book event on May 23 at Zoom Saal in Frankfurt, Germany.

The live discussion celebrated the launch of his new coffee table book, "The Collection: Kirk Hammett".

Joining Hammett on stage was METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo for a surprise jam during the event.

Hammett's recent live shows have featured covers of songs from his musical heroes, often choosing tracks far removed from METALLICA's traditional metal sound.

A worldwide release via Gibson Publishing, "The Collection: Kirk Hammett" is a premium hardcover coffee table book where Hammett shares stories behind the rare and highly collectible instruments he has used on hit records and live stages.
