Legendary Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has released a premium coffee table book titled "The Collection: Kirk Hammett" that delves into his storied guitar collection.

The book is a hardcover, 400-page publication that explores the extraordinary guitars used by Hammett throughout his career in metal music.

The book features exclusive new interviews with Hammett conducted by Chris Vinnicombe and Mark Agnesi, as well as rare imagery from legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin's archives.

Shot on location in Hawaii and Los Angeles, "The Collection: Kirk Hammett" is a must-have for fans of Metallica and anyone interested in fine guitars.

Hammett's guitar collection includes his storied 1979 Gibson Flying V and Greeny, the legendary 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard formerly owned by guitarists Peter Green and Gary Moore.

The book also explores the early days of Hammett with Bay Area thrash trailblazers EXODUS, where he was a member of the original lineup before replacing Dave Mustaine in Metallica in 1983.

Hammett's decision to leave EXODUS after joining Metallica had left his former bandmates "less than happy," as revealed in a 1994 interview with Metal Hammer.

"The Collection: Kirk Hammett" is available worldwide via Gibson.com and the Gibson Garage locations in three premium formats: limited signed and numbered Custom and Deluxe Editions, and a Standard hardcover.

Hammett's passion for fine guitars has been made possible by Gibson, as he noted in a video teaser featuring narration from Jason Momoa.

Every guitar has a story, and Hammett shares his own through this comprehensive book that celebrates the artistry behind each of these unique instruments.
