Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that the Led Zeppelin documentary, Becoming Led Zeppelin, makes its 4K UHD and Blu-Ray debut with an Ultimate Collector's Edition on April 14.
The release will feature a two-disc set including a 4K UHD disc and a Blu-ray SteelBook edition, alongside various exclusive collectibles such as photo card prints, limited-edition guitar picks, and a special letter to fans from Director Bernard MacMahon.
The documentary explores the origins of Led Zeppelin and their meteoric rise in just one year against all odds.
Featuring awe-inspiring, psychedelic footage, performances, and music, Becoming Led Zeppelin is an experiential cinematic odyssey that uncovers the creative, musical, and personal origin story of the iconic band.
The film is told in Led Zeppelin's own words and marks the first officially sanctioned film on the group.
The hybrid docu-concert film also unveils a huge amount of rare and unseen Led Zeppelin performance footage.
This visceral musical experience will transport audiences into the concert halls of Led Zeppelin's earliest tours, accompanied by intimate commentary from the famously private band.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Bernard MacMahon (American Epic), Becoming Led Zeppelin was produced with epic challenges in mind, including a global detective search for material to illustrate the band's story.
Writer/producer Allison McGourty recalled the five-year journey of scouring attics and basements across the Atlantic for rare footage.
Becoming Led Zeppelin is now available on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, and fans can stay up-to-date with new episodes of Metalshop every week by subscribing to the BraveWords YouTube channel.
