Sweden's LION'S SHARE has remained one of the top practitioners of straight-ahead, hook-laden melodic metal since their 1987 inception.

The band's latest studio album and first in 17 years, "Inferno", sees founding guitarist and songwriter Lars Chriss joined once again by lead singer Nils Patrik Johansson.

Their combination pays dividends across the album, which saw a rather circuitous route to completion thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic and multiple shifts in the music industry.

Lars Chriss shares that the band started writing for this album in 2010 but kept on writing after that.

They had a huge catalog of songs to choose from, including some written as far back as 2010.

However, those songs weren't used as is; they were re-done, re-mixed, and re-worked into the final product.

The band's sound has evolved over time, with Lars stating that LION'S SHARE was never about epic power metal but rather a fusion of their various influences.

They've now honed in on a more heavy and darker sound, inspired by Tony Iommi and JUDAS PRIEST.

"Inferno" marks the band's return after a decades-long hiatus, and they're eager to share their new music with fans worldwide.
