In a heartfelt tribute, Lost Society vocalist/guitarist Samy Elbanna stepped in to front Children of Bodom for two sold-out shows in Helsinki, Finland.

The Celebration of Music events honored the musical legacy of late frontman Alexi Laiho, who passed away on December 29, 2020.

In an interview with Chaoszine, Elbanna reflected on his experience performing with the band and shared his thoughts on the tribute shows.

The performance featured original Children of Bodom members Janne Joutseneimi (keyboards), Henkka Blacksmith (bass), Jaska Raatikainen (drums) and Alexander Kuoppala (guitars).

The setlist included fan-favorite tracks such as "Living Dead Beat," "Bodom Beach Terror," and "Follow the Reaper." Elbanna expressed pride in the band's performance, stating, "The band was incredible, the band sounded great...

It connected with the people from the first song: 'This is why they're doing it.' These songs that will live forever, they were created by a genius." Children of Bodom, founded in Espoo in the early 1990s, rose to international popularity with albums such as "Something Wild," "Hatebreeder," and "Follow The Reaper." Their technical playing and energetic live gigs showcased their unique sound.

The band's statement regarding the tribute shows highlighted their desire to celebrate both their own musical legacy and that of Alexi Laiho.
