In a shocking turn of events, Ian Watkins, former frontman of Welsh rock band Lostprophets, was confirmed dead on October 11th by Wakefield Prison authorities.
The musician, serving a 35-year sentence for multiple heinous child sexual offenses, was reportedly murdered by another inmate during an ambush.
According to The Sun, Watkins' jugular was slit and he died from blood loss.
The attacker, known to the prison staff, is currently in custody.
An inmate described the murder as 'brutal' and 'shocking', even by prison standards.
Watkins had previously survived a non-fatal stabbing at Wakefield Prison, nicknamed the 'Monster Mansion,' in 2023.
Despite his crimes leading to a life sentence, he maintained three groupies who frequently visited him.
