MASTODON has announced the release of its new album "Marrow Deep", set for August 28 via Loma Vista Recordings. The album marks the band's first full-length record without founding guitarist and singer Brent Hinds, who was fired in March 2025 and died five months later in a motorcycle accident. The album features guest contributions from BLACK SABBATH co-founder Geezer Butler, whose bass solo for "The Vanishing" was recorded remotely and is described as a Sabbath-inspired highlight. Butler, who was invited through management after being mentioned in a book, has not met the band in person but expressed interest in collaborating. MASTODON hopes to meet him in person during a U.S. tour later this year.

"Marrow Deep" was co-produced at the band's West End Sound in Atlanta by Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou, with mixing handled by Andrew Scheps. The album also includes contributions from CONVERGE's Nate Newton and Ben Koller, LAMB OF GOD's Randy Blythe, GOJIRA's Joe Duplantier, and CLUTCH frontman Neil Fallon. The record features new guitarist Nick Johnston and significant keyboard work by João Nogueira.

To celebrate the release, MASTODON will launch "The Poisonous Weapons Tour", beginning September 16 in Orlando, Florida, and concluding October 24 at Sick New World in Dallas, Texas. The tour will feature DEAFHEAVEN and ALCEST as supporting acts. The full itinerary spans the United States, with the band performing across multiple states.

The announcement follows a recently released documentary titled "The Mastodon In The Room", in which band members Troy Sanders, Brent Kelliher, and Brent Dailor reflect on Hinds' legacy and the impact of his passing on the group.
