To celebrate release week, Megadeth have issued a special expanded digital edition of their new self-titled album, available for a limited time and featuring the exclusive bonus track “Nobody’s Hero.”

Dave Mustaine said “‘Nobody’s Hero’ was the first song we worked on during the sessions, which is funny because it didn’t make the album. Everything we’d written up to that point had to fight for a place on the record.” The download includes an alternative X-Ray cover and delivers the full album plus the bonus track directly to fans. The offer is available until 11:59 PM local time on Thursday, January 29, via the Megadeth shop.

The album is currently leading the iTunes Top Albums chart as of Friday, January 23, topping the platform’s list of bestselling albums and EPs at the start of the new tracking week. Despite the dominance of streaming, iTunes remains a key platform for fans looking to directly support artists. A full report is available at Forbes.

The release also includes a reimagined version of “Ride The Lightning,” co-written by Mustaine with Metallica’s James Hetfield, Cliff Burton, and Lars Ulrich.

Megadeth will tour Canada in support of the album this February, kicking off on February 15 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC. Anthrax and Exodus will provide support. Tickets and meet-and-greet details are available via the band’s website.

This summer, Megadeth will also join Iron Maiden as special guests on select North American dates, including multiple nights in Toronto and Los Angeles, as well as stops in Montréal, Boston, Chicago, and more.

Over their career, Megadeth have sold more than 50 million records worldwide and earned one Grammy Award, along with 12 additional nominations. Their catalog includes landmark releases such as Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?, Rust In Peace, and Countdown To Extinction. More recently, Dystopia debuted in the Top 3 and won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance, followed by The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! in 2022.
