Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine was recently bestowed the highest honor that can be awarded to foreign citizens who have distinguished themselves in culture, science, politics, sports or humanity.
This distinction came prior to Megadeth's concert at Tecnópolis venue in Buenos Aires.
The honor recognizes notable contributions and services to society.
Despite this accolade, Mustaine has expressed his intention to retire with a farewell album and tour.
His final studio album, "Megadeth", debuted at number one on the U.S.
album chart after earning 73,000 equivalent units in its first week of release.
This success followed the band's previous top ten-charting albums, including their latest release "The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!".
Megadeth's farewell run of shows may last for another three to five years.
