MEGADETH Performs 'I Don't Care' Live for First Time at 'Let There Be Shred'

Mega-thrash legends MEGADETH brought their blistering sound to the intimate 'Let There Be Shred', a one-day fan extravaganza held just outside Nashville in La Vergne, Tennessee.

The exclusive event saw the band perform live for the first time ever with the new song 'I Don't Care', which was released as the second single from their upcoming self-titled album on January 23, 2026 via Mustaine's Tradecraft imprint on Frontiers Label Group's new BLKIIBLK label.

The track is a standout anthem that features Dave Mustaine trading guitar lines with Teemu Mäntysaari and delivers a killer chorus.

During the event, fans were treated to an acoustic performance by MEGADETH, as well as a masterclass, Q&A session with the band, and even a talk on guitars with Mustaine and Gibson CEO César Gueikian.

MEGADETH's setlist for the event included a blistering performance of their classic hits, including 'Tipping Point', which the band performed live for the first time on October 14, 2025 at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The Punishment Due In a statement announcing their final album and farewell tour, Mustaine thanked fans for their dedication and support.

He reflected on the band's impact on metal music and acknowledged that there are few bands who get to go out on their own terms after such an illustrious career.

MEGADETH will release their final album in 2026 before embarking on a farewell tour with dates set to be announced soon.

The follow-up to 'The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!' will feature music by the band's current lineup: Mustaine, Mäntysaari, drummer Dirk Verbeuren, and bassist James LoMenzo.
