After a period of tension and lack of communication with former vocalist Marc Lopes, Metal Church founder Kurdt Vanderhoof has announced the release of a new single titled 'F.A.F.O.' and a revitalized lineup featuring founding guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof alongside longtime guitarist Rick Van Zandt, bass icon David Ellefson, powerhouse drummer Ken Mary, and dynamic new vocalist Brian Allen.

The band's chemistry in the studio gave rise to this blistering new track that has energized the band and inspired them to continue writing and recording.

The new single was produced by Kurdt Vanderhoof and mixed/mastered by Zeuss at Planet Z, and is set for release in 2026 via Rat Pak Records.

Metal Church plans to tour extensively in 2026 and some festival dates have already been announced.

The band's recent history has been marked by disagreements and a lack of communication with former members, as Marc Lopes expressed his displeasure in interviews regarding the lack of respect he received during his time with the band.

However, Kurdt Vanderhoof has stated that he 'personally has nothing negative to say about' former band members and wishes them all luck.

The new Metal Church lineup was born out of an unexpected spark that reignited Kurdt's creative drive, prompting him to reach out to the musicians who would ultimately shape the group’s next chapter.

The band's recent tour and return from Australia marked a crossroads for the group, and their chemistry in the studio gave rise to 'F.A.F.O.' - an aggressive thrash metal track that Metal Church fans are sure to enjoy.
