Renowned metal vocalist and Stryper frontman, Michael Sweet, has announced his forthcoming solo album titled 'The Master Plan', set to release in April.

In a recent statement, Sweet detailed the record's musical and lyrical aspects: 'As we draw closer to The Master Plan being released, I’m feeling lots of different emotions...This one does [musically showcase] genres and decades that I grew up on...Lyrically I’ve always wanted to write and record an album that will make people feel good...It definitely has its ‘edgy’ moments, but it is not a metal album by any stretch of the imagination.' Next Monday, Sweet is set to release a new single, 'The Master Plan', which he described as having a 'Ordinary World'-like vibe from Duran Duran.

Meanwhile, Sweet has also been working on a new Stryper album slated for release later this year.

Over the Christmas holidays, he shared an optimistic update about the upcoming project: 'Everything feels bittersweet...This will be our best album to date.'
