Having joined the band in 2010 after Mike Portnoy's departure, Mangini shared how he maintained his composure when the group decided to reunite with Portnoy.

Over a career spanning 13 years, Mangini played an instrumental role in Dream Theater reaching new creative peaks.

However, when the opportunity for a long-awaited reunion presented itself, Mangini showcased his dignity and understanding of the situation.

He highlighted the importance of reason and morality in guiding his outlook, stating that airing internal band matters was not something he ever considered.

When reflecting on his time with Dream Theater, Mangini regards it similarly to any of his previous bands.
