In a recent interview with Matty Roberts of the Percussion Discussion podcast, former MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee shared insights into how he maintains his drumming skills while not on tour.

According to the discussion transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Dee explained that he stays fit and avoids substance abuse in order to preserve his physical energy.

He also noted that a decade ago when joining SCORPIONS, Dee told the bandmates that he didn't "fuck up," which he credits to his rigorous preparation routine.

When reflecting on his drumming approach, Dee stated that he doesn't rely solely on physical power but rather compensates with knowledge and precision.

This perspective is similar to how ice hockey players conserve energy by being strategic with their movements on the ice.

Mikkey has been known for his exceptional speed and precision since his time in KING DIAMOND in the mid-1980s.

He went on to discuss his experiences as a session drummer and eventually landing gigs with MOTÖRHEAD and SCORPIONS after Lemmy's passing.

Dee mentioned playing on SCORPIONS' 2022 album Rock Believer, marking his only work with the band so far.
