Australian thrash metal band MORTAL SIN has confirmed a return to major festivals in 2026 following their reunion. The band played its first show in over 14 years on January 31, 2026, at the Froth & Fury festival in Adelaide, Australia. MORTAL SIN completed an Australian tour in March, with additional shows in May and June before returning to Europe in August. The lineup for the 2026 tour includes original members Mat Maurer and Andy Eftichiou, joined by Nathan Shea and Ryan Huthnance on guitar, and Sydney drummer George Delinicolis.

The band has confirmed that they will perform at major festivals in Europe, with a goal of returning to Wacken Open Air. The reunion follows a 15-year hiatus and marks the band's 40th anniversary of their debut album 'Mayhemic Destruction', 20 years of 'An Absence Of Faith', and 15 years since the release of 'Psychology Of Death'. MORTAL SIN will perform headlining shows in Poland, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Finland during the European leg of their tour. The band will also play at Czech Republic's Brutal Assault and Belgium's Alcatraz.

A new lyric video for 'Mayhemic Destruction' was released in July 2025. The group's latest album, 'Psychology Of Death', was released in November 2011 via NoiseArt Records and featured the debut LP 'Mayhemic Destruction' as a bonus disc in limited digipak format. MORTAL SIN, once hailed as the next METALLICA, has been inducted into the Kerrang! Heavy Metal Hall Of Fame in 2005 and is the only Australian band to have toured with the big five thrash metal acts — METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, MEGADETH, and TESTAMENT.

The band plans to discuss new music creation during a Christmas gathering following their FLOTSAM AND JETSAM shows in late September and early October 2026. They have not yet confirmed whether new material will be written, but express hope that it will meet fan expectations by reflecting their core identity.
