Australian thrash metal pioneers Mortal Sin have confirmed festival appearances, including at Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic and Alcatraz in Belgium, as part of their ongoing reunion tour.

The band's current lineup consists of original members Mat Maurer (vocals) and Andy Eftichiou (bass), joined by Nathan Shea and Ryan Huthnance on guitar, along with new drummer George Delinicolis of Live Wire and Bastardizer.

Mortal Sin completed an Australian tour in March and will perform more shows in May and June before embarking on their European festival run.

The band has been celebrating their 40th anniversary since its inception in 1986, marking a significant milestone in thrash metal history.

In a recent interview with Metal Roos, Mat discussed the chances of Mortal Sin writing new music: "Yeah.

It's been discussed.

No one's agreed to anything yet.

We will.

I mean, yeah, we might." The band has been discussing the possibility of creating new material since their reunion announcement in July 2025.

Regarding their current focus on live shows, Mat stated: "We've already put out - on various bootleg CDs - we've put old tracks, stuff that we never released," he explained.

"So we've already done all of that." The band aims to draw from its past experiences and create new music that takes into account their changed perspectives.

Mortal Sin's latest album, "Psychology Of Death", was released in Europe in November 2011 via NoiseArt Records, featuring the band's classic debut LP "Mayhemic Destruction" as a bonus disc.

Their live album, "Into The Inferno (Live In Oslo)", was released in 2009 via Riot! Entertainment.

\ It remains to be seen whether Mortal Sin will produce new music or focus solely on their reunion tour.
